Powered by nothing but gravity and freefalling at speeds in excess of 200kmph (120mph), skydiving is undoubtedly the most thrilling of human endeavors. Enjoy breathtaking views from high above New Zealand's most central drop zone. It's hard to imagine a more dynamic venue for your first jump.
Recomended: Watch this 4 minute DVD.
After a basic orientation of the dropzone (and a little paper work) you will receive basic skydiving and parachute instruction (about 10 minutes) before being fitted with a harness, jump suit, helmet and goggles. Then its off to the aircraft for a spectacular flight to altitude. Once you have reached your exit altitude, you and your instructor will exit the aircraft in tandem and freefall to 5000ft reaching speeds in excess of 200kmp (120mph). Your instructor opens the parachute and you take the controls and begin your parachute flight to land in front of your spectators back at the drop zone.
Approximate time is 2 to 3 hours depending on group size.
Once you have touched the skies and tasted the clouds nothing will ever be quite the same again.
